People curse the politicians, Wall Street, the bankers, et al, and focus very little on their own ability to control how they think and feel about the crisis and what they can do themselves to improve their financial situation. &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;The Epictetan and stoic approach is to focus on and care about and take ownership of only the things we can control, and ignore those things beyond our control.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5843649415665206173/6202050548995787257/comments/default/7294703643556167996'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5843649415665206173/6202050548995787257/comments/default/7294703643556167996'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://crushpessimism.com/2009/01/direct-your-mind-what-can-i-change.html?showComment=1232975760000#c7294703643556167996' title=''/><author><name>Mike</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/12533378885004989917</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='31' height='22' src='http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sOq6xu3HQpU/SR2mX4IdOFI/AAAAAAAAAQI/0ySesGt7g9k/s1600-R/mike_elgan.jpg'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://crushpessimism.com/2009/01/direct-your-mind-what-can-i-change.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5843649415665206173.post-6202050548995787257' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5843649415665206173/posts/default/6202050548995787257' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-660546001'/></entry></feed>
